Really well made IMO.

Only thing I can see is I would remove his eyebrows which I find distracting.

I think your concept would work great with power-ups, if it's a platformer especialy. Just some ideas: Flamethrower, bomblauncher, some kind of grapple ? la Zelda, different kinds of bullets, etc.

As for the pixels, I think your small sprite is all ready cartoony enough because he's so small compared to a real life man.

The feet do not pivot in your animation, they stay paralel to the ground, I think that's what gives your animation a robotic feel.

His hair could be bouncing not as one block but like real hair does.

Here's a little update, I tried to complete the body but I wasn't couragous enough for the extrimities yet  :)



Maybe he's not lanky enough to make him special?
Maybe I should make him more spagetthi-like?

UPDATE:

Did the coach version for fun and to get used to pixel stuff.
I find drawing exactly what I want is hard with pixels, just look how ugly the hands are.. :/

Here's Lanky Boy.

It's the first pixel piece I've done, I've having a hard time cleaning up the lines, but it's coming along OK I think.
I tried to apply what I read on the forums here.

What's under the green line is still a rough sketch, what's over it is considered finished.



C+C is more then welcome
