Grass, mountains, and dirt, all in one BG pallete.  The main reason I'm posting this here is that I'm looking for critique on the grass borders.  I've asked several people if they looked like grass, and they said they would if there was a darker shade around it.  However, in the nes pallete I'm using, I couldn't find a good intermediate shade between the green and the tan that wasn't weird looking or too dark. (But I could of missed some)  And dithering didn't help.  So I'm stuck, not knowing what to do to improve them.

Blought.. it's amazing.  I love the tree and especially the colors on the character.  That would be a weird game, I wounder how it'd work. :P

Right now I'm trying to finish my present for Kren... Do you think isometric mountains like these are weird and unattractive?

I like characters with blond-orange hair, orange and blue color combinations, Mediterranean-area scenes, zelda-perspective mockups, and long distance running too  :P

I have no interest for anime.

oh man :'(  I was told not to dither, this is a slimy sea creature (cept maybe some of it on the edit above, and maybe I still don't get the gist of where I can safely dither).  I don't think Arachne's anatomy is the most correct, but the arms look more correct than mine ATM

A little tiny tiny bit more progress, are these pecs less pillowshaded?  How do I unify the pink to a sea green?

Is it ok if I bump thrice?

So, I added an outline and a (WIP) red water background.  Everything is much more smoothed out.  I am going to add some twisting veins for some intrest as the design is bland right now.

Ooh, yes MoD, you are so right about those lines.  I thought 2x would smooth things out but it did the opposite.

Yeah, this is kinda like.. a half sketch.  There is A LOT more refinery to come, as I am hardly satisfied with it.  I am also not exactly pleased with the current design, what do you suggest to make the pallete more likable and give it back some personallity?
