Pixel Art / Re: A Matter of Perspective...
« on: March 10, 2015, 02:25:19 pm »
a circle in perspective is always an ellipse, be it orthogonal or conical perspective. only if the circle is perpendicular to the camera direction will it be shown as a perfect circle.
What changes in the orthogonal perspective is that the center of the circle is the center of the ellipse, while in conical perspective, the center of the circle wont match the center of the ellipse.

this sort of perspective is like if you had a camera VERY far from the scene and zoomed in. theres still a vanishing point, but its so far away that you can't feel the distortion.

A way to make the bricks a little more faint would be to make each block larger. that way there would be more bright color per area.

here's an attempt at an edit. It might mess up your tileset, so...

This is lovely. I love the palette.
Personally I think the brick texture is a bit too strong but its hard to make it more faint without having to create a bunch more tiles

how big is each tile? Cause you could go half with the wardrobe thickness.

I'd be more careful with the outline. A white suit will be "eaten away" by such a dark outline. Maybe something around midtone grey? depends what background you are gonna put it in.

I always though RPGs were drawing in a top down view, and that what you show as topdown was called birds-view. That's why I started that thread. cause there's no one place where that information is laid down in an unmistakable way. "RPG-view" sounds vague to me. Sounds like "Oh its a sort of like this kind of thing".
Anyway, don0t want to derail this any further. if you have a link to some of that info, I'm be more than appreciated!

I don't know if anyone has posted this before, but I really like how the guy digs into the development and dealing with limitations.
