7 1/2 minute doodle of the moon.. I might take it further...probably not, though. Just taking my mind off of my own disappointment with myself...
7 1/2 minute! :o
It would probably take me 30 minutes to make something like that...I must be a very slow pixeller :-[

I think it looks just as amazing as the previous explosion!
The only crit I have is that I don't really like the smoke going into a sickle shape at the end.
I made a quick and crappy edit here, but it might help a bit:

Nothing personal, but your posts are kind of stupid and unhelpfull. I know you try to help but when people post their pixels you should help them improve their work, not change it the way you like it.
Your first post in this topic is a good example:
http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=4616.msg57161#msg57161

Compare your crocodile to his, it's completely new. He wants to improve his cute cartoonish character, he doesn't want to make it into a big tough crocodile.

Help people to improve their work. Don't tell them how you think it should have looked.

Wow, amazing piece!

There is not much critique from me, but I do have some points you might want to work on.

The whole piece shows you have put much effort in it. Every pixel is placed carefully, but the sky (not the clouds) looks a bit out of place. Maybe you can improve this by filling up the whole sky with new lighter clouds, you can mix the color of the sky and the color of the current clouds so it looks like the new clouds will be further away. The new cloud thing is just an idea, but I really think the piece will improve if the brown sky will be filled up.

There is one thing that looks very strange in this piece, the shading on the back of the monster. The monsters back is so light, but the place is clouded so I can't see where the light is coming from. You should replace the white by a light pink.
You can also add lightning to the background, this will make the light back of the monster make sense. You can also shade its back blue when you use the lightning, I think it will have a nice effect on it.

You don't like the lighter stone patches? any specific reason?
It's not that I really dislike the lighter stones, I just think it doesn't look that good on the edges. I like how it looked on your first revamp attempt. Maybe you should try putting stones at some random points instead of a row that fills up the whole edge of the platform.

I think the grass looks better, but the bushes looked more in place in the first one. I think you should use some very dark green in the outlines of the bushes. (the same dark green you used in the outline of the platform.)
I like the new platform, but I don't like what you did with the parts where the platform stops:

But I like how you did it on your first revamp. Maybe you could mix them a bit.

I had some other idea for the platform, why don't you let some stones stick out here and there? Maybe that's a good alternative for a texture.

General Discussion / Re: Actual impact of Video Games

I don't play games a lot anymore, I did when I was 10. I spend more time talking about games and making them then playing them.(not that I ever succeeded in making a decent game ::)).
I don't think video games have a really big impact on people, sure there are idiots who try to imitate GTA but normal people know not to act like them.

I don't really like making top tens because they will change every day. If I want to play a rpg game and have had enough of shooting games my number 1 on the list will be a rpg. That's why I'll just name some games that I enjoyed playing a lot:
Suikoden 2: IMO the best rpg ever made.
Tombi/Tomba 1&2: the best 2D platformer I ever played, the graphics are a bit childish but it suits the game.
Age of empires (age of kings and expansion pack): I think the newer age of empire series are more fun but this game got me into rts games and is worth naming.
FF7: It doesn't deserve all the praise it gets but I still think it is a great game
Monster hunter: A great game, it was my first online game.
Monster rancher (monster rancher 2 in europe): A pokemon kind of game. But I enjoyed this game much more then all the pokemon games
Little big adventure 1&2: Great game, I've replayed this game a lot.
Suikoden tactics: My first srpg, I loved it.
GTA san andreas: A great shooter. I don't really like this genre but the gta series are great fun.
Black and white: One of the best sandbox games of its time.
Harvest moon: Another fun game
And then there are games I enjoyed playing when I was young, but are boring now, like roller coaster, sims, crash bandicoot and tekken.

At first I thought it was a man with bandages around his head..
the middle line that seperates the teeth should be bend a bit.
The beak doesn't look like a beak, the top part looks like a nose and the bottom part doesn't look like anything. I think it would be best to make the beak a bit wider.
