Pixel Art / Re: GBC Mockup

Hello!, very nice work and critics so far. The only thing i can say is that i see the small character as a girl instead of a boy (and i suppose it is the same guy but smaller). Don't ask me why though...
Keep the good work!

Hi!, these might not be the best examples but hope you get the idea behind them:

Pay attention how the individual mozaics have small variations on hue, saturation and/or lightness. You can do the same with your wall tiles, that will make them look a lot more real. GL!

Heh it's been a while since I did art like this.

Personally I prefer soft washes on metal like this

but that might be too realistic for the style. It's worth re approaching though.

Hey Helm, your metal stuff is awesome! i look at it closer but can not fully understand the technique, could u explain it a bit?

@Perihelion: man, amazing work, really! The only thing that disturbs me is the juxtaposition of the POD and computer.

hey it looks very nice, the only thing i notice right now is the perspective on the column's base, it doesn't fit with the rest. Keep the good work!

Hey, sorry for taking so long, here is my edit:

Antialiazed, adjusted head's perspective and removed some colors

I like moon this way, pale greenish-blue with less contrast. That's the kind of light those building are getting i think.

The window showing the ouside looks like a a photograph of outside. I don't know how you could fix it, but maybe you could experiment with the angle of the view.

The window doesn't have any depth, it's plain, that's why it looks like a picture :P
Maybe try with more yellowish colors on the outside?

The doorhandles look wrong.

Sorry for the 1 line spam but I feel i have to say it: thanks pistachio, your post was very instructive to me (at least).

It looks very nice!

The first thing i noticed is the face on the one looking down, seems like he/she is watching up. Maybe you can move his nose and eyes some pixels down and make his cheeks disappear a bit from below.

Then i noticed that you can easily get rid off up to 7 colors. I will try an edit later when i get back home.

Good look! hope it helps  :)

looking at pistachio edit at actual size, numbers can not be read over that background, yellow and grey dots (beside the portrait) are hard to distinguish one from the other.
