Think of a layer of sky/atmosphere between the foreground and the mountain. Everything will be a little more blue the further away it gets. If you have to, color your mountains as if they were in the foreground first and then put a translucent layer of your sky's color over it and mess around with that.

I guess since *virtually nobody posts on this thread, it's going to be a progress thread, if that even is a thing. This is half of the size I want the stage to be for the game, since the sprites will be viewed at 200%.

They're not supposed to have feet, but I did need to change the lightweight guy, and I want to use your edit for the lightweight (w/o the feet of course)
Added simple walk cycle for smith, added a nice little sword too.

This is a small project I've been working on after seeing some of the stuff on King Arthur's Gold, and I'd like some advice, mostly on the characters. My friend says they need work and more detail, and I'm not really sure what he means. This is meant to be viewed at 2-300%.

The background tiles for the tunnel seem to repetitive. You might want to make them twice the size, or have larger patterns. A way you could make the waterfall seem far away is making it thinner or darker, because caves are generally pretty dark. It looks nice though, reminds me of Yoshi's island.

For help, carefully observe how you would walk normally. Steps are taken one at a time. one, two, one, two. Also, in the third attempt, both of the arms are swinging in unison.This is rarely the case when walking in real life. I hope this helps.  ;)

I might start working on some animations now. This guy originally wasn't really intended to do anything, just stand there (like a guard) and look alive, I guess. :u

Made a more casual but not idle stance, and made an on-guard stance, as well as a spear.
This spear actually does well to contrast from the rest of the body. I also made two new hats. :o

Tiny feet are in the style. It's sort of chibi. Idk :u
Anyways, update. made the weapon palette brighter to stand out more, and slanted the weapon. I also made an idle state. I plan to edit it (the idle state) more later. Finally, I organized the placement of things and made it a little prettier.  :crazy:
