The peice could do with more likeness, I don't think you are quite done. Also, it could do with more shading in my opinion. Your peice has a squarish head, where as the reference has a more oval head, THe mouth on your peice is to wide, and in the refernece, his mouth ends about where his eyes start on each side of his nose. Your peice has this as well, but you should move your eyes 2 maybe 3 pixles towards the nose to make the mouth less wide. Anyways, keep working on it :)

The mouth should be as wide as the chin I believe. The face looks mirrored now, maybe if you bring in a different light source you can make the shading more interesting or dramatic. Play a bit with it :y:

Edit:

Where do you see that the mouth ends where the eyes start?

And I've to agree you can make it look more like in the statue, study the reference, highlight his facial features so you can base your version on that.

thanks I will work on it. I have looked upon a sheet of Iori and I think I get the point now.

Malor, I was thinking about feet movement, but within the frames I had (4 unique, 5 in total) I thought it would look sloppy, but since I am gonna have 7 frames now I may add some feet movement in the next update.

well, the only thing that catch my eye immediately is that the mouth is too low which makes the nose too long. The underlip should be on the same height were the jaw lines connect to the neck, and the nostrils should be a bit higher then the ear lobe.

I cleaned the frames up a bit, although it's still not finished.

@Gil: thanks for pointing that out, didn't noticed it before :yell:

hope it's a bit better now?

Well, I don't take breaks because when I work on something I have the urge to finish it as soon as possible, so most of the time my breaks consists of sleeping and eating time. However, sometimes I am bored of working on it and I go browsing 10 min. on the Internet before continuing.

I also have that when I stare to long at a piece I don't see the flaws anymore, it's normal. But I guess the best is to take a 15/20 min break after a period of 1 hour pixeling, but that's my input not based upon my experience...

Wow, amazing!  I really like this... it's going to be hard to find crits... I guess I would say that I'm not sure of the scale of this picture, as in, I can't figure out if the skull is a huge skull-shaped temple, or a small skull in the foreground?  It might just be because I'm stupid, but I'm confused.  Also, what are those liney green-topped things in the foreground?  I can't tell what they're supposed to be.

yes, I know what you mean, haha! The platform on the left looks way bigger and stands more out then the sand & the skull pit, so yea I am also confused now.

I think the light is coming from the top. Also the left hand is smaller than the right which should be the other way around, make the left hand bigger and turn it a bit to the right.
