I would suggest reading up on Confucianism and Taoism. I found those two topics to be really interesting if you have a basic knowledge of what China was like at the time.

Is it Paul Robertson inspired if the actual Paul Robertson is the one doing the art?
I don't see why not. I inspire myself all the time :D

You could sell an ebook (PDF or whatever) directly at any price you like if you wanted I suppose?
I think the main issue is that people just don't know about my book, plus I'm a nobody.

Friend, what are you talking about? What is this voice you speak of?
Odysseus was nobody and he is well known across the world.

From what I understand, the headband should follow the top red line which is parallel to the line intersecting both eyes.

Also, from below the eyes, the nose seems to shift to the right and then the mouth as if his head is slanted. At least that is what I am seeing :\

Agree, though it would be pretty disturbing. Along the lines of BoI.

Blu: Poor kitty  :(

On another note, any other TF2 players here?  I'd definitely love to invite you all to one of the servers I frequent when it's moderately empty to have a very pixelated shooting session.  And by extension I can even invite bronies here to one of the pony servers I'm at.  I personally have been practicing art over playing TF2 lately but I think I'm going to push to actually take gaming breaks again :P

@Alex having a video series about pixeling: I'd so totally watch that.

I'd call it the "Joy of Pixeling - With Alex HW".  Bonus points for throwing in things like "just a happy banding area".
Yeah, but I only find fun in HL Lobbies. PS is just stupid now.

Pixel Art / Re: Help me polish this penguin, beginner.

If you'll excuse the oversized gif and the jump/glide parts of the animation this may be useful:

Just a penguin I pixeled for a game I never finished. I actually got to meet some penguins* this year (hey I like penguins okay?), and their actual walking is even funnier than a cartoony version.  (Arms out and back slightly, leaning forward, stumbling clumsily, rocking side to side) which would suit your penguin I reckon.

Couldn't get facebook to show me the videos I took, so just looked one up on youtube quickly:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlbxRBfGAr0
(some stumbly walking action at 17 seconds in)

*One of them played on my 3ds
ooo, we should add each other's FC so we can discuss penguins
Started as an edit, ended as ehhhhh
It is very blue. Maybe you can get something from it anyways D:
