Pixel Art / Re: Wearbear

I actually prefer the new one. The old one didn't have any interaction; it was just a kid with a bear on his head. Now it's a kid in a bear's mouth. the bear also seems to have a lot more personality now.

You have an interesting method of doing things in reyscale and then coloring here. Do you always do that or is that a result of the original/reference being a drawing?

There's not much else that needs comments at this stage, I'd just like to see this finished.

"IM JOINING," assuming there are still spots left.

Ensellitis has a free hosting service for pixel artists, and I think he's still accepting requests. Here's the related topic over at pixeljoint. You get good bandwidth, it's free, and the URL is http://*.ensellitis.com, not really that ugly.

I'm going to have to go with ptoing about the 'algebraic' and 'mathematical' thing.

I'm more Euclidean than you.

I think this is very good for a start, but it has a lot of problems with lines. I suggest you read up on perspective (it's not really that hard, you just have to know what you're doing) and rework the lines so the feet are more similar in size and shape and so the legs are fixed: right now they look like you drew in the feet and body then just connected them to the legs with some bendy things that're like the ref's legs.

You could really benefit from looking more at the reference; you would add a lot to the piece by adding the little details on the legs.

I do like the eyes, though, they look very crisp. Unfortunatelky, they, too, have perspective issues. You'll want to make the closer one larger as a start and you'll probably want to skew them into perspective if they're not directly facing the viewer. This has a lot of potential and I'd love to see something great come of it!

I think you could use adding a few more colors to this. Also, try using MS paint if you're using GM's editor. GM is for games and the editor is the WORST pixel art creation device I've seen. My calculator has a better pixel art app than that. (seriously.)

The mouth, especially lower jaw, has some anatomy issues. I'm sure you can find a picture on google of a dog or wolf that shows the structure of the lower jaw. The ears are also a bit wonky; the left (its right) ear is okay, I suppose, but the other one is coming out of the top of its head.

Good luck continuing this piece!

I was tempted to say something witty, spiteful, and undoubtedly scarring, but I've let you off with a link.

Are you kidding? It's hard enough to pixel something staying still, but a dynamic WMP visualization? It'd would be nearly impossible to get a good representation of one of those. Sure, you could take a screenshot, and pixel from that, but that's cheating.

:P

Still, nothing would have arms that are collectively as thick as its torso and your ear-things would show bone/hard supportive tissue along with muscle or they would bend downwards. You would do well to better show the curvature of the face and the crack in it rather than it just being an amorphous thing with a slit in it. Another thing, you hint as to a neck, but it would have to be something thin and flat, but you don't really show that to be the case. I guess the character would work better if it was defined more in a more natural pose before you made this portrait view of it.

The last one was enormous? Back at Pixeljoint they've got over 300 pages of offtopic in one thread. Maybe it has something to do with the forum software.

@Shadow Wolf- I saw that pixel in the PJ gallery and thought, "Dang, that looks like somebody's style, but I don't remmeber who." Now that I see it under your handle it clicks. I think it could use some anatomy work though, it lacks proportion, a neck, ear muscles, and the buttcrack on the front of his face doesn't really make sense.

Can I have an opening mention too? I promise I'll give it back still working... mostly.
