Pixel Art / Re: CVS Style Sprite

it looks better
i tried to do an edit but gave up halfway and pose is janky

The problem with RWBY designs is that they use flat shaded no outline style and simplified anatomy, which is exact opposite of CvS style sprites. Hair and gloves have same outline which makes them look like weird hair slabs.
I dont think their designs translate well into small sprites without removing stuff. Like she has black/yellow boot top bandana things but also orange stocking on other leg and like piece of tutu skirt what.
That orange stocking obscures the leg and causes difficulty in making them match in length.

maybe you accidentaly pulled an old artist trick, mirroring the image so mistakes are more visible.
Torso looks like its always rotated to the camera, but invisible pelvis moves wildly with leg base going forward. Right one could have obscured leg movement with rope(?).

her sleeves are same color as her hair which is confusing
also assymetry gonna be nightmare if you want to animate it.

edit: its one of them RWBY characters it seems. Not a fan of that design, but they use more lemony yellow for gloves\bra.

I did a very quick edit adding the upper eyelid yesterday but forgot to post

Iris is never fully visible with normal face expression.
It still looks like creepy anne hathaway though

i made a quick rough recoloring

I added some coloring and tried to separate vertical and horizontal surfaces by making horizontal surfaces(floor) brighter.

Didnt read the thread, but using achromatic color like pure gray with normal colors is not a good idea.
Look at that first page examples on how GITS cityscape is blue and akira is green-yellow. Just wander around those pictures with color fill, i doubt concrete would be just gray with all the purple neon reflecting on it.

2D & 3D / Re: Official Anatomy Thread

You should look up classic proportions, right now head is too big and palm is too small.
You should probably try first drawing from a real photo with similar pose. Capcom-anime style generally involves transforming real anatomy into the line composition.

Job offers / Re: Looking for character artist

in normal gamedev such test task are paid
asking people to do stuff for free just to have chance of getting a job is disrespectful. I dont think majority would even bother to waste their time.

Do you intend to inform JonTron on the fact you plan to run fundraiser and sell game, based on his work, on Steam?
