If I may make a suggestion regarding character design, why not take some cues from Egyptian mythology? Give him Ra's head, or some symbol that makes him the sun. Maybe a bright halo on him. Something like that.

Considering how he gave his skull expressive eyes, I really doubt he was going for a realistic skull. Most of Ultimaodin's critiques still stand, though.

Here, you have virtually the neck right under the chin. You should try to "center" the body and the head together.

Yeah, I have the exact same problem when drawing them. I blame learning to draw by drawing Sonic the Hedgehog.
