hello again! it's been a while i haven't updated my works, so here how far i have done:

I would suggest you to check this interesting software called Pixel Vision 8 Game Creator which I'm using it at the moment for my short game, the reason why I choose it was because it can simulate the actual 8bits game console which it can have NES, Game Boy, Master System, Game Gear and soon Pico-8 restrictions. as you can see, it's perfect for the challenge! imagine that you can create a NES game in the spirit of "Castlevania 2" or "Ducktales"!

Another good thing about this game engine is it use the lua language like with Pico-8 but with a few differences.

However, I must warn you that game engine is currently in alpha test but it will soon enter in the beta phase in few months. and for at the time of today (march 28th, 2017) it's a paid software which cost only 10$ but they will have the free version once they're in beta phase.

Well, i hope it will help you guy to find your ideal game engine :)

Hello folks, been a while I haven't come here! :crazy:

I come here to get some feedback on the level as well on the characters animations.

The gameplay of this project will be a seek and find game. Which mean the main character have to find the missing part of her milking machine. These missing parts are hidden in every room.

The game will be in famicube restriction created by our fellow Arne which you can find the information here: http://androidarts.com/palette/Famicube.htm so far, I managed to reproduce them thank to this fantastic game engine: https://pixelvision8.itch.io/game-creator due to their limitations as it's still in alpha phase, I used the resolution of 256x144 which I think it was enough for this short game... hopefully.

So, here come how far I've done the past weeks:

I'm not entirely sure for the milking machine... I will probably redo it completely depending of your critiques and feedback.

For the game result, I only achieved this so far:


I still need to figure out how to give some dynamic move like the gif files I made with aseprite since the game result is in the same constant speed frame... But that is only for the code part.

Oh and I managed to remove many pixels that are wasting the 8x8 space... But there might probably have more. Feel free to edit them or destroy them!

i keep working on my game, still trying to figure out how the hell to make the guy jumping ffff.... not the animation is a problem but it's the coding with C# that did drive me nuts  :'(

well, hope it will be fixed soon.

hello, been a little while, i still continue to work on the statue but decided to take a break from it and doing the new level which it will be in cave so, there the tileset



i haven't yet posted a mockup for to show the result. i will certainly have alot of fun to work with it XD

new progress of my statue, i discovered a new technique that i never heard of so, i hope you will find it very usefull :



from left to right :

the first one is done manually in pure pixel art, the second statue is a brutal color and size reduction. the last one is done with the new technique that i discovered from this article : http://danfessler.com/blog/hd-index-painting-in-photoshop it's so far one of the best technique i ever see. it was a relief i could improve drastically my pixel art skill, and i even had fun doing it ! :D

so, i hope you find it usefull with this new technique :)

as usual, C&C is welcomed.

hello, i finished designing the new statue that will be serve as a game save, but i'm not sure if i did it correctly... for moment, it's in greyscale mode so we could fix the lighting of it :

i was wondering if there is any restriction for an amiga (the lastest version of amiga computer) ?

i will soon start redoing the statue because i'm not totally satisfied with it :|

hello everyone, first of all, thank you very much for your incredible feedbacks ! it's what i needed so far !

now, there my new progress so far :



i did alot of adjustment as you asked me to do and it look alot more better than the old version, i started to add more stuff as promised, i'm not sure if i pictured well the statue i did there, i bet that i can improve it even more with your helps :)

for about the repeatiness, i added some more variation since i'm stuck with the 16x16 system because i plan to make a 1280x720 resolution, which why the pic is half sized XD; and beside that, i'm trying to limit to 5 5 5 bits per channel color. (it goes same for alpha)

well, there the complet tileset so far :



feel free to add or change this tileset, it will be an open source by the way.

i will do the parallax background later, as usual, please, feel free to give me any feedback  ;D
