Pixel Art / Re: Need some tips [CC/WIP]

Looks great! But to make it better in my opinion is to add some colors and a background. It would be nice if your dirt starts brown and as it goes down becomes blue-ish. Also above your platform you only have green, add more colors, red, yellow, brown(like a tree or a dirt tile or some colorful flowers). Also if you have a background with more things in it :p like mountains or a forest, i am 100% sure that your pictures will get much more beautiful!
Wow, thanks, dude.
I want this dirt to be blue-ish :3

Yeah, tried to add some flowers and so on - defently it helped.
I am not sure how to add background mountains and make it look nice. Need to spend more time i think

The gradient isn't really helping, and is also responsible for the mockup having 88 colours. It also messed with the colours of the middle coin.

As far as colours go, I think the colours overall are a bit too light. The main grass colour and the sky colour are very similar except for hue. I noticed desaturating the sky and increasing its value makes the mockup read better.

As a last thing, the slime seems to be too far down.
I added gradient because of the desperation.

You are totally right about lightness and sky.
Thats what I have after fixing. Looks way more better imho.

Hey, guys.

Made simple mockup.
It doesn't look so good in my opiniion. I think its something about colors/saturation. Tried to play with Saturation/Brighness levels but no good results.

Hey there, welcome to Pixelation!
Hey \o
wow, thanks for the feedback.

- The source sheet has a lot of noise, maybe you saved it as a .jpg at some point. Try to upload only .png or .gif images without any such noise, and preferably at normal scale (1x1 pixel size, instead of 2x2 or 3x3) to make it easier for people to make changes.
- Right now you have mixed pixel scales, which means that it looks like this is a 3x scale, but you've actually got some places that are 1X. Mixing scales rarely looks good in my eyes. In this particular case, I don't see the point of it.
Hosting service converted sheet to a jpg for some reason. Need to remove that unscaled pixels, yeah.

- When walking, it looks like his legs remain still above the knee, and he's just moving everything below the knee. It's strange. I would make it look like he's raising his thighs and knees with every step forward.
Actually, yes. When u said this i noticed too

- I know this is stylized, but I think his head could use a bit of work, because the hair implies that we're seeing him from the side, but the eyes imply that we're seeing him from the front.
Will try. Acually,  I think right now hair is too simple - just covers his head without any juice. My friend thought, that this is helmet :D

- I'm not a huge fan of the colours. His sweater is blue and purple-ish, his pants are teal and his head kind of orange. Those three colours don't mix particularly well in my eyes. Maybe you should consider more classic combination of colours. It may feel unoriginal, but standard colour combinations are standard for a reason :)
- When picking different colours to create depth, highlights and shadows, try to experiment with different hues and different saturation. So instead of making his hair two nearly identical colours with roughly the same hue (color) and saturation, you could try using two different colours, like orange and brown. If you look at good pixel art, you'll notice it often uses many different colours in combination like that.
I bought Betty Edwards color theory book :D Maybe it will help.

How about hue and saturation on his dress?
I kind of tried to use this guide. Maybe I missed something, because english is not my native.
