I haven't toyed around with pixel art much lately, so none of this is really up to par with my current abilities, but the difference is still night and day:

Me and my friends are making a short, 2d sidescrolling survival horror game. I've offered to do all the art assets for the game. He's given one month to finish the game in its entirety. We have about two weeks left and I'm only just making the player character. :blind:

Animation is something I never really got into in the first place. Legs are something I still struggle a lot with. Animating legs? Fuuuuck.

I had never heard of him until last month when me and my friends watched Paprika and then Millennium Actress the day after that. He died a week later.

Pixel Art / [WIP] Noirman C64

Haven't really done much pixel art in a while, so I started playing around with this. Didn't really plan any of it out, just kinda did it spontaneously. No real goal in mind (other than I wanted to do something without really 'mixing' colors, so to speak). I don't really have the most innate sense of composition, so any advice in that department (or any for that matter) would be appreciated. Also, I never owned a C64 or anything and am only really interested in it for aesthetic purposes, so if there are any spots where there are too many colors or something, lemme know, since I dunno how to check for that kinda thing automatically.

Has anyone played Digital: A Love Story yet? I myself was not even born in 1988, but I think nerds everywhere will be able to appreciate it.

Pixel Art / Re: {WIP} Link walk

I think there's a reason you almost never see games with a direct overhead view. Not only does it make it a lot harder to convey depth, all of your characters are going to be completely unrecognizable. Like, I would have no idea what this is supposed to be if you didn't say. Not to mention, the animation jitters very oddly, which makes it hard to convince us he's supposed to be walking. It's not like the 2-D Zelda game overhead format is broke, so why fix it?

I'm not quite ready to call this finished yet, but it's pretty close. I've been picking it up and putting it aside for the last eight months, and I'm hoping to have it behind me soon. Not sure if I want to do anything for the background, and there's still a few blatant errors to fix, but:
