Pixel Art Feature Chest / GR#080 - RPG Tiles

these are meant to be viewed at 2x zoom, but ill upload the small and the big too.




the top left corner and the green is supposed to be grass, and the grey/blue parts are two diff. versions of an inside tile, probably in a darker place or something. the bigger part of the grass (bottom 3/4s) i took the first tile and got rid of the 3 colors, colored one of the colors (the "stalks" of the grass) the same color as the highlight and i got this interesting natural looking grass effect... not sure if the messiness of it is good. looks kinda cool IMO, but id really like someone else's opinion on it.

the main problems im having is the palette. i always had trouble with picking the right palettes, and although I've gotten better by adding a bit of contrast and hue shifting and such, I'm still not sure i have it right. could anyone help me with the colors? also as stated above, any problems with the structure of the grass, etc. I'm thinking that the structure might be why i think it doesn't look so good...

i know its only like 3 diff. tiles, but I'm just starting out. c + c if you could, thanks a lot :) !

Hey, I'm making a pixel art version of Andy's bed from Toy Story for a game... it's supposed to be top-view like rpg. i'm kind of having a little difficulty.

im kind of stuck on what I should do. Im using this as a reference:

Hi. so this is my rock head haha...

i kind of got the idea from helms ruins video (got inspiration from it) from his recorded pixel art project. its supposed to look just kinda like a big rock head guy, kinda like a moai statue. the light blue blob at the top is the lighting. and im not sure what to do with it. im thinking maybe the colors could be better or more lively and the contrast is kind of dead haha.. i should fix that. but colors im having a problem with sorta, like highlights. should i add another? and is the shape ok? and all the shading? hes supposed to look like he has a jawline and cheekbone and such.

hi. i think im getting better at drawing (and in turn more able to draw what i imagine) but i dunno. im just horrible at lightsources and lighting and shading and all that. obviously its supposed to be a ufo... and i wanted it to have a sort of red metal, almost racecar-ish (nascar lolol) look to the hull or ship or whatever you call it... like i dunno, one of those 80s-90s galaga like clones? im finding this hard to explain. i dont want it to LOOK like a ship, just i want the metal part of it (not the glass dome thing) to have that kind of air. you know what i mean? probably not. but thanks anyway! c + c pleeeease :D

sooo... i figured i should work on my trees.
i read somewhere that making a tree is like a bunch of circles, so i drew my circles, drew a trunk and was pretty happy with the lineart. so i figured id go for a circular kind of odd look for the tree... and shit its terrible... for some reason i cant come up with a good tree palette... the trunk is ok to me but it could use some work too IMO... but i just dont know what to do with it at ALL.. could someone PLEASE help me out with this thing, its really bothering me

so... i did a thing where i created a little creature and i increased the color count over time. from left to right, the color amounts are three, four, five, six, eight (these are counting transparency). these were made in photoshop with the pencil and fill tool, with the pallete from the recent iso collab. i made it in a pink background, but i provided both the original and one with a grey background.
and yes i did kinda cheat on the first one... i filled it in and accidently had anti-alias on... but it came out good! so i figured why change it? :\
please comment and help me improve; im only a novice. thanks!

hes like a meatsack, a blob kinda but with a somewhat prominent chin and jawbone.. basically imagine like a little, spherical, pacman like creature with teeth.. not sharp, more like dull molars. hes got glowing eyes with no pupils and a winning smile. it almost has baby like characteristics in its face, and i tried to show its somewhat kid-monsterish, off-color sense of humor.. in the drawing it had a tongue, but i didnt draw it cause of tinyness and it wouldnt really look so good. the thing is supposed to be like a little creature that follows the main character in a game of sorts, like an old japanese game, or a weak enemy in a 2d sidescroller... though in the drawing it seemed more like the former. it hops around and eats anything i guess haha. anything else? lol

i didnt really have a set goal in mind.. i had drawn the damn thing and figured hey ill add one color at a time haha. but the goal as of now is to give it the feeling described up top.. basically a rambunctious little companion. as of now it really does look like a 2d enemy and doesnt really strike you as something to remember (but not too prominent.. hes only a sidekick). help?

im trying to make rock/mountain tiles to be used in an rpg-ish sort of game. for the top one, i tried to add rocks and cracks along the edges, but i didnt think it looked right. so for the bottom one, i took them out, and it made it look worse! please help!
