2D & 3D / Cherry Darling from Planet Terror

Hey guys! I haven't posted on this forum in forever. I figured I'd let people know I haven't died or anything, I just haven't done any pixel art lately.  :crazy:

I recently finished this piece though, which seems appropriate enough for this section of the forum. It was made for a lowpoly contest where you had to create a character from an action movie. The budgets were 700 triangles and one 256x256 pixel texture. I used 700 triangles on the dot because I'm anal like that.  :D

Anyway, without much further ado, here's my final contest image:



As you might have guessed, my user name on the other forum is Demon Princess. Lame, I know... but I came up with that 10 years ago when I was a wee noobling.  :lol:

You know when I said I was going to finish my 3d projects before doing any new pixel art? I lied. I snapped back into doller-mode.  :crazy:

Uhm... anyway, so I made this doll base. I thought I'd get some comments on it before continuing with it. The palette I'm using is the Avatar Palace universal palette.



The bobbleheadedness was done on purpose... ofcourse.  :D

Ugh... I always start on a bazillion different pieces, never finishing any of them. But lately I've been trying to redeem myself by going through my HUGE scrapheap of unfinished art, finishing everything that seems worthy, and tossing out everything else. I also promised myself not to start anything new until this is all done, and after that I will only take on one thing at the time. :B

Anyway, this one I actually started a year ago, and I only just decided to finish it.  :crazy:

Well, this thing has been gathering dust on my harddrive for a good while. I was planning to add jewellery and some more draped cloth, but I basically got stuck. So... any advise is much appreciated.  :crazy:

Pixel Art / EGA doll (retina-burning colors ahead)

What do you get when you combine the bright happy style of the dolling community with the blaring colors of the EGA palette? :D



It's my first attempt at heavily restricted colors. I used all palette colors except the greens. The result is well.... colorful?  :crazy:

Maybe if you stare at it long enough you'll start to see pastels.  :D

For the record... yes, this is a "doll". However, this was completely pixeled from scratch by me, including the base body, which you can find at my site. So meh to all the doll haters out there.  :-\
