2D & 3D / Torso Anatomy?

I've been working on anatomy and one thing I'm really struggling with is everything underneath the chest. How do the abdominal muscles and ribs interact? In pictures of really buff guys are those the ribs or muscles?

Any other general feedback would be cool too.

General Discussion / Pixel art as a job?

Hi guys,

I'm 17, about to go off into the wonderful experience called life, to pay those wonderful things called bills and taxes.

I've been doing pixel art for quite awhile now, but never really dedicated to it, just did a few commissions here and there. I want to work in the creative industries in the future so I'm wondering: is it worth it to pursue pixel art as a primary source of income?

I really enjoy pixeling, but I'm not sure there is enough money flowing out there to support myself, even if I go into raster art.

Have any of you out there made it? How realistic is it to make a significant amount of income? As of now my research has mostly pointed me in the direction of keeping it a hobby.

Pixel Art / Subtle Walk Animation

Hi guys, I'm trying to make an assassin main character for my game, and I'm really struggling with making a subtle walk animation. Do you have any tips for how to make walks at such low resolutions? All her other animations (above) are over the top so those were quite easy. The problem is while she's walking she's trying to remain inconspicuous so I'd prefer something very non-dramatic. Her idle frame is below.



If you could help me out I'd really really appreciate it. Thanks!

Anybody got ideas for adding clothes while still preserving the feel of this image? If I add clothes would I need to add a face?

I'm having a bit of trouble with the feet and arms. They are quite weirdly shaped. If anybody could give me feedback on how to improve them I'd very much appreciate it.
