Hello, everyone! First time poster and complete new comer to pixel art here. I've been prowling the forums for a little while now and really like the community so i figured I'd join in, contribute and ask for some constructive criticism. Anyways here's the first project I've worked on past character sketches.   



Its pretty simple but I wanted to work on something more straightforward to hone my skills. Main things i feel i need the most help on here though are the trees and background composition. I initially had the trunks of the trees alone as background but figured it didn't look interesting enough so I added some greenery. In any case general advice on basic techniques are also welcome
