Pixel Art / Attack Animations
« on: July 30, 2019, 04:26:46 pm »

Wooooo it's been a minute.

Been obsessed with the idea of flicking a marble with a thumb and ended up here.  Some marbles are called, "cat's eyes," due to the shape inside the sphere, so I decided to make it part of the flash effect.  It didn't quite turn out how I thought it did, but gotta go for style.

As for why there's two, the extra arm movement really isn't necessary, but why not add a bit more motion to it?

Pixel Art / Shading Direction
« on: October 24, 2017, 07:35:23 am »

I plan on animating this a little bit by making her move her arms down and opening up her hands, but I need to get the look down first.  It's pretty basic, but I want to bump up the shading a bit; the face and hair are based on a smaller sprite I made a while back scaled up, but the rest was pretty much just copying it from the reference,

It's going to cut off at around the waist, so everything up from that needs a second look.

Pixel Art / Flourish Animation

Felt like making something with a coat flow and a lot of secondary animation for the fun of it, and wound up with this.  The coat itself is heavily based on Q from Third Strike, but otherwise this was just me playing around.  I think the end could have a better transition to the base clothes, but nothing I was trying was working.

Pixel Art / Posing Practice

DesignDoll again.  Went for a relaxed sort of pose, but the feet kind went weird at some point.  I think I'm on the right path for shading and I hope to maybe add an extra shade for colors, but I thought this was a good place to start.

Pixel Art / CVS Style Sprite (Back in Black)
« on: January 28, 2017, 03:22:47 am »

Saw some sprites in this style, and got inspired to make this.  Took a few cues on the legs from Cammy, but the rest was a lot of guesswork.  I feel pretty good with it, but there's a lot of shading I'm not fully certain of.

Pixel Art / Walk Cycle
« on: December 10, 2016, 08:53:28 am »

It's adapted from a rotoscope, but I've been wanting to do a forward facing walk for a while.  The hair and face look a bit too animated, but I feel that I'm in the right direction with it.  Otherwise, I may have put the breasts a bit too low and the waist is a tiny bit choppy, but that'd be fixed if I work on the legs.

Pixel Art / Posing Practice

Adapted from DesignDoll, but just a bit of shading practice and finding a pose.  The hands I feel are probably the roughest part, but I'm pretty happy with the rest of it.

Pixel Art / Animation Base Sprites
« on: November 12, 2016, 07:12:39 am »

I plan on using these as the base sprites for a series of animations I plan on working on.  The first two (Blue and Pink), are pretty much done, so I'm more focused on the others.  I tried going for a lot more personality in the way they stand and how it portrays their disposition. There's probably a lot of areas I can clean up, but I can't single out everything on my own.

Pixel Art / Attack Animation

Tried out a bit more involved animation focusing on key frames and maybe a bit more hold frames than was necessary.  I don't plan on shading it, so I tried to make the colors recognizable.

Pixel Art / Anatomy/Posing Practice Ft. BIG
« on: August 09, 2016, 05:42:04 am »

A lot of focus was on proper sizing, so a lot of the 8 heads proportion thing.  Otherwise, developing the personality and trying to show it through the poses.  The first image is based on stuff I found when I looked up, "Korra Muscles," and the second was, "Girl stretching arms," so that was the kind of reference for each, but they're both freehand.
