Pixel Art / Running Sprite

I am starting to work on a sprite but first need to have better knowledge on animation, I am experimenting with stickman and making them walk and what not, This is my third try at it.

It will probaly be half the size like this:

Is there any advice for this....

I have been working an a face with big ears. (mugshot)

Should I keep the ears or not?

In the fourth one I fixed up the lips and mouth, just need eyebrows, any thing else that needs changing/adding?
