havent really posted anything here in awhile


started on this yesterday, i'm a bit out of my element when it comes to larger pieces like this so i figured it would be worth it to get some critique on it as i go.

my biggest issue right now is the ear - i'm having an oddly difficult time actually conveying depth with it without bringing it out of style w/ the rest of this

redesigned this guy again(far right)
and then decided to sprite the only notable previous versions. left is oldest, etc

lots of things are bugging me about this but im too tired to figure out how to fix any of them, so i'll check on this tomorrow and see if i can tell whats up with it

i've hit a roadblock
*i can't figure out how to shade it*

help

e:just realized how unspecific that is

i've tried multiple times to try and do this, but failed each time
i dont know if it's the way im approaching the shading, like, i'm trying too hard to show depth, and i SHOULD be just going for a flatter look or what but
this is bugging me
