not to be rude, but sounds like a meritocracy, which ptoing possibly deliberately but either way managed to avoid throughout.

Rather the opposite, people who care less about finishedness would be submitting halfarsed hexes instead of doing any finer work (as much as that is possible with the palette & dimensions, anyway...) on it, with such rule.

(im more into non-pixelart but anyway) im a consistency fanatic, and using pixelart in a game eases enforcing consistency. Having a pixelart graphic in front of you & doing another "in the same style" is much easier than it is with nonpixelart.

(introduced neckguardlike thing (imo genuine neckguards look silly), merged a few similar color tones, made it more obvious that the sword is being held by some leather strap instead of right hand)

@Gil, right about the eyes

@Mathias, its not based on anything; just a puppet-like humanoid with simple geometric shapes instead of human musculature, so i wouldnt have to get to human anatomy at this point. But uh i like dithering, any remotely round object cannot look very round without dithering imo? & i really like the pointy legs as well.

@wah_wah_69, i dont have any palette limitations, and your 8 color edit (or any edit that makes there be less than 16 colors here imo) does lose some (valuable) information.

Ok, highening contrast worked wonders; also fixed the cape thickness (thicker materials look cooler, but yeah i suppose it makes no sense here). Folds might look good, but i dont see good places to put them. The leg is like that because he is walking sneakily to stab someone. & the cape is "hovering" because the sword was meant to keep it up.

I see, my bad, that sounds nice actually.

As of palettes, im rather new to this, what is it with taking some pointless über-limiting palette (such as the mentioned black/white/1customcolor) anyway? Only nostalgia? I mean, limiting to some 16 specified colors can look really cool, but 3 (esp drastically different) colors will always look crappy, what is the point?

Or everyone would do a tile with and without waldo and pixelation would have a php randomly displaying one of the waldo-tiles inbetween the rest  ;)

In such case the drawing area given to each maker should be pretty large; i imagine finding waldo on some 100*100 would be way too easy, unless you stuff it completely, nothing else visible behind them, with waldo lookalikes, which wouldnt be that fun?
