Your lighting seems to be off... I can't tell where the light source is coming from. I assumed it was the camera at first, but the pants and shoes seems to indicate that it might be elsewhere.

Ah I see Commander Keen influence seeping into the character design. Bouncing mushrooms, and yellow worms (almost look like the slugs).  Reading over the posts, your art is looking great. The biggest thing is picking a style and sticking to it, but not being afraid to tweak that style if need be.

My little brother commented that this looks like a Town Center from Age of Empires. The detail of your work, is at the very least, inspirational. Keep up the great work!

One thing I notice: The man standing on the wooden deck is not casting a shadow on the wood or onto the ground below.
