Pixel Art / Re: How can I improve this?
« on: July 21, 2017, 04:57:36 am »
I'm pretty new myself but i'd say for the robe take the whole thing down one shade as the "base" shade then reshade it with with white highlights and darker gray/black shadows.

Pixel Art / Re: [CC[NEWBIE] Need help with sprites!

I'm pretty new at this my self but i'd say mess around with outlines on sprites that small. A cool trick i learned is that you can emphasize sharpness of a corner with an outline. by either filling in the outline so that it is 3 pixels in an "L" shape at the corners instead of following the edge 2 pixels in a "\" shape. There is a pretty good example of it here https://youtu.be/gW1G_FLsuEs?t=376

Pixel Art / Re: Newbie, Hoping for advice.

Now i'm going to preface this by saying a i'm a newbie as well but the shading in the bottom have doesn't match the top half. I'd say you'd be better of with a more subtle shading scheme in the skirt. Also i think a white background isn't a good way to present the sprite it gives it a weaker silhouette then it actually has. The design it's self is quite cool. Reminds me of dark souls a lot.

Pixel Art / My first two sprites what's next?
« on: July 21, 2017, 03:06:14 am »
I have always been a huge fan of pixel art but have always failed when i have tried to learn it. This time around I have decided to jump in with both feet and just get it done starting with character sprites. These are my first two sprites and i'd like some feedback as well as ideas what to practice next. They are supposed to be The Night King and Lord Varys from game of thrones.
