Pixel Art / Re: [WIP] A N00b's Work

I have no further critique of the art, because what you have to work with right now is plenty, but as for pixel art programs, perhaps try Graphics Gale?  The free version lets you do plenty, and if you animate, its easy enough to work around any saving/opening limitations they give you for this freeware.

Well, the red thing is a hat...and it makes sense for him to be swinging it up and down midst the headbanging...One can tell what it is when you see it next to all the other animations.

Helm was that post really necessary?
Was yours?  And just so I can't be bludgeoned for that skatchy response, I take it back, I'm a noob on this forum and it isn't my place.  My input is:  For your idle sequence, he dips down in the middle, and rises at either end.  Maybe you could try the opposite, so he is tallest in the middle.  In other words, maybe try making him bounce on his toes.  That might make more sense in this context.

Not to beat a dead horse with a stick, but I figure I'd provide a quick example for my own amusement.

My dreams of making a nice iso pixel quilt are dashed!   :'(

Shouldn't that hair spike turn with the rest of his head?

That's still oh so close to before.  You've just changed the colors and lopped off a few parts.  Also, changing that repulsor (secondary booster) so its vertical wasn't a really good idea, since there is no longer any way for the robot to counteract the throwback from firing projectiles....
Start from scratch and try something ENTIRELY new and'll get more out of it. :D

Chris2...balls... is right.  And I know this is stylistic personal preference, but a ninja's run should have some kind of character to it as well...stealthy or graceful, etc.   But first, you should just work on a basic one and then go from there.  Just search run cycles on here, and you'll come up with loads.  Also, check out this nifty site:  I realie it is for walking, but it shows you how weight/etc can affect a person's gait, whatever.

Might I suggest a peek at your earlier work, and Baccaman21's spiffy response with those land before time runs?  :D Also, I would think those red and blue circles would get at least SOME up and down movement.

If when you say "not looking quite right," you mean that you can't really tell what he's saying, then yeah.  I would say find some way to make the eyes/mouth bigger, so that you can bend and shape the mouth to make it more readable.  If you want to make it more lively, then maybe bend/squash the bottle as he talks, accompanied by a cute little jump?

Pixel Art / Re: Bag Man Walk Cycle

Look at the torso of your guy there. Try walking while only moving your arms and legs and not shifting your middle up and down or from side to side at all (or your head for that matter).  Difficult, eh?  :D
His right arm also seems to appear a bit choppy, as it comes forward too fast.
Might I recommend a peek at this fine specimen? ->  Also take a look at some sprite sheets of walk cycles from games that have good ones (Spriter's Resource?).  Or you could muck around on this forum, as there's tons of great stuff on walk cycles.   ;)
