Pixel Art / Re: [WIP] Ice Block

Maybe this can help you somewhat. its a iceblock i did awhile back for a game.

it can still be a bit reworked now that i look at it a couple of months after i  did it. Nice cracks can be made with only 3 colors. just pick one, do the crack and add a highlight at one side of the crack and a shadow at the other side.

hope it helps.

Here's mine also.

This... is the stuff of madness. How did this happen? Why? Thank you for giving shape to subconscious fear.

did a sloppy edit, but hopefully it shows you what you can make of it, give him a bit of a pose, although my ended up as Mr.Muscle he tells something. I'we also played around with the palette andreduced the colors to half of what you had. Legs need to be abit longer also.

hmz, do not know why the colors became so cold, thats not the same colors i see in photoshop

Hahahaha, i dont know if you like it or not Helm but that statement made me laugh all the way to school and thats a 20 minute walk

The sprite blinks yes, it's sort of a power-down state to the penguin.

And penguins usualy have more shape to them but i think this gives more character to the penguin and there will also be a game ralated feature where you propell the penguin into iceblocks to break them, thus making them flat :)

I started animating the penguin somewhat.

There is also a technical update at: http://www.johannes.gotlen.se/blogcontent/aigame/

There is no Gamelogic to it atm but the programmer Johannes Gotlén is doing a wonderful job so far i think :)
The fish will be standing still normaly, you can also press and hold CTRL while clicking the cubes to remove and add new ones, this will change the penguins pathfinding after its regual loop is done, if done in the middle of the cycle they can go through the cubes.

Im still experimenting on the color of the snow so the borders dont fit atm.

Hello Qunit.

I think this looks great , but the whole piece suffers from strong jaggies and strange black borderdots. It´s almost like you'we used Magic Wand Tool in photoshop and deleted a black background. If you can smooth out the outline i think it will look even more awsome.

Also the flower in her hair. I would guess its supposed to be stuck with it's stalk behind her ear, but it reads as if its in front of her face atm. I Would have some of the hair go infront of the flower and slightly adjust the angle having the flower looking away from us.

Her left foot seems twisted and broken in a painful way, have it go behind her right food also to have it avoid looking like they grow into eachother.

And Welcome to Pixelation :)

latest mockup, ignore the r-tarded penguin and the footsteps as they are just quick placeholders for the real thing.

Also. anyone have any wishes to what they would like to see deepfrozen ? :)

Ok im back home again, and i will now show you my edit.

All i did was work with the timing to have the images anticipate whats to come next.
I know she has superhuman strenght and all, but without any anticipation at all the animation will never become credible.
I also kept the 6th frame and slowed down the movement of it to have her take a break from the landing and to let our eyes register what is going on in the animation.
Maybe rework the sixth frame to have her have one knee on the ground as she lands.

Hope im not just talking alot of jibberish :)
