Here I have made a attack animation for my knight that I have been working on and so far everything is coming along very well. I decided today to take on this challenge of of making this animation but I would like some critique for it.

Please don't critique my colors for they are temporary (Along with the sword, its temporary until i add finish drawing it)

Someone I know is telling me it doesn't look too powerful so I'm kinda just looking for thoughts on this or in general, like his stance, the slashes or the movement of his body. Thanks!!!

I embraced the "sass" and now he has reached his maximum swag level.

Pixel Art / [WIP][C+C] Help with a Knight walking animation

I'v been working on this knight walking animation but I feel like it its too casual for an action platformer. Maybe I'm overthinking this but I'm also looking for general criticism. I know something is off but I can't figure out what. Thanks!

Pixel Art / Re: Adding more detail to a sprite?

This was INCREDIBLY HELPFUL.

Thanks again Dreadnaught for opening my eyes up to see the full picture. Ever since the beginning of me creating this character which was a few weeks ago I had stuck to the same general feel. Now seeing what it could become and turn into is awesome and I'm so glad someone like you was able to add some input and ideas I never would have thought of, along with teaching me some pretty critical things that helped me more than I thought they would when building off your ideas.

Anyway I took the knight you recolored for me and I adjusted it a bit. I changed the pallet more to my liking, touched up various shadows, highlights and colors and I changed the feet size back to a skinny ankle because I really liked how that looked. As for a few other things I deleted a pixel on his helmet to add a bit of depth to his head and face and added a few more defined shadows to increase the contrast of him over all!

I'm very happy with how this came out and super glad you were able to help me again. Now I gotta do a walking animation, and If I have any more questions I'l keep it in this thread I guess. Thanks so much Dreadnaught!!!

Pixel Art / Adding more detail to a sprite?
« on: August 15, 2016, 05:36:48 pm »
Hello Guys, I'm kinda new to pixel art and i just finished with another one of my characters (Thanks to Dreadnaught on this forum) and while I am happy with his proportions and posture, I feel as if the colors are kinda dull and I generally there is not a lot of detail. I'm just looking for ways to improve on it in the color and detail aspect and any help or tips on doing this would be very nice! Thanks a ton!!!

Pixel Art / Knight Posture and Shading
« on: August 13, 2016, 05:49:31 am »
I made this knight based of another knight I had made previously. I threw this together in about 30 minutes but I know it needs some pretty heavy revisions.
I'm not too happy with his posture, arms or legs but I'm kinda new to pixel art and I'm not too sure how to fix these "problems"...Also I know the shading isn't the best but I really wanted to throw this together before I go to sleep so I can get a bit more critique on his fundamentals rather than last minute things like shading.
Also he is for a 2D platformer so I'm really trying to design him so later when I animate him I will have a easier job.
Thanks and I appreciate any critique!!!
