Pixel Art / Re: platform character and need some help with bird

That is impressive that you have created all those animations. The only thing that bugs me is the shading for the one foot. One foot is really bright, while the other one is dark. I would take it down a notch. (From the left to right sprite). And I added a bit more lighting to the arm.

Dinosaur mounts. Since the main character has lots of vibrant colors and detail, I think the dinosaurs should be more colorful and have more detail in general, but then again that would require more work...

Here is my second try at walking. I tried to make it more dramatic, the body moves. It is a bit tricky to keep the S while doing that. Also the feet are a bit more dramatic. The sword also moves. I changed the hand to be floating, partly because that is easier.

Now how does it look?

Hi, I am creating a simple game and have always struggled with animation. What can I do to improve this animation? I would love to hear pointers to help me creating animations as well. Thanks  ;D.

I think the gif is a little glitchy...

Hey, I think that looks really good animation wise. Now try another animation with Tiki! I can't think of any criticism.

Pixel Art / Arrow Animation

Here one of my early attempts at animation, I am creating this for a simple game. The idea was to have a person shoot something at a 45ish degree angle. I think it could look better, but I don't know what to improve. Any advice?

It looks like it will be great when it is finished. A couple things that I would watch out for as your completing it are:
Get rid of the couple random black dots in places.
I can't tell if the persons shadow is going to be from the torch or from the sun. If the torch, then the day is way too bright to produce that shadow. If it will come from the sun, then I would suggest not having as dark of a shade, and the angle makes me want to say that the sun should be visible in the horizon.
Good luck.

I actually think that you could have more readability if the items contained within the border were colored in, because that would make it stand out from the frame.

Yo, I'm Alan

I love pixel art, been trying to get better.

I have a little website that has some of the random stuff I have created, (along with a couple things my brother has created). http://awesometures.blogspot.com. What else... I am attending college right now, I'm a proud Mormon, and an avid open source/Linux advocate.
