Leaving "correct" anatomy on the side , i still think you should fix some minor details regarding proportion and position.
The outline itself isn't bad (except some parts that look unnatural, like the top of the head that is too squarish), and adding colours isnt the problem either; The thing is that you are not doing much with what you have.
You should increase the contrast between the shades, so they "pop" out more; also, the inner lines that are supossed to be muscles, are very weird in structure, and in my opinion don't really mix with the current anatomy style you have going on.
Also there are a couple of stray pixels (white) on the hands, and another couple on the knee area (skin tone).
Kee it up tho, with a bit of work, this could really be improved.

Hey, im really liking the bird man;
More than the face, i think that what bothers me is the lack of contrast between the different parts/areas of the body; it's fine that you are re-using the colours there, but you need to use them in such a way to convey form, shadows and darker areas in a better way.
Also, i think this picture is a jaggie mess; it would greatly benefit from anti-alias, and reworking some of the lines.
Speaking of lines, i absolutely think that the lighter-than-the inside outline is not working; At least make it match the lightest colour in that area, and if you put darker lines on the darker places, you will convey shape better.

I know you probably aren't going for a perfect anatomy, and that's perfectly fine.
The problem is that you have consistency issues with this imaginary anatomy of your character.
For instance, there's a big problem with the character's left arm, specially his shoulder).
Also, perspective wise the upper and bottom part of the body don't seem to match up; that wouldn't be a problem either of course since
im aware the body can twist a bit, but in this case, that's the problem, there doesn't appear to be any sign of "twisting".
The selective outline in my opinion isnt so hot in some parts either (like you've guessed it, his left arm for instance).
The shading on some parts seems pretty nice, but on others it translates a bit like "messy", i would work on that too.
Im digging the pallette, and the grin on his face works for me...(the eyes don't match up for me tho).

2D & 3D / Re: Official Anatomy Thread

Ah!, this is great, ill be sure to post here once im out of my tight schedule, i've been meaning to get out of my comfort zone, and go a bit more realistic anatomically speaking.
I know its a bit of a stretch here, but taking in account the recent changes here...is it possible that in a near future, a section dedicated to traditional drawing is created? Sure, there are other places already dedicated to that...but dunno, this feels like "home" in the art department, you kno?
I know, i know, pixelation is dedicated to pixels, heh, but... hell, if i can get out of my comfort zone (try to at least), why cant pixelation?
