What you need to do is establish a set light source. Right now, the leaves have the same shade all the way through. Instead of rendering each leaf individually, pixel in clusters of shades and highlights. Have a definite separation between light and dark. Look at some references. Good luck :D

Since it's the future, perhaps a slightly brown smoggy atmospheric effect?  I think the robot looks pretty cool so far, I find the shading of the wheel set not facing us weird but other than that the shading adds a nice bulky effect to it.

Also, I hope you're fixing the "Product Details" and "$99.99" text, they look pretty scribbled in :P
Yeah, it is all scribbled in so far.
Ok first off the robot shading needs to be a bit smoother and some things on the robot aren't placed right like the left side of the robots wheels it's too far down and also it needs to show the inside of the wheels like you show the outside on the right side of the robot. And for the background i figured you can show the hmtv showing what it can do and all the features that come with it.
Thanks for the advice, will work on fixing immediately.

The person that is paying you is always right.

Unrelated and also wrong!  If you're being paid for your expertise it's absolutely your responsibility to speak up when something is worse than it could be, you're an artist not a robot.

Hey, I have to make a living somehow. The last thing I want to do is irritate the client. If my opinions conflict with his/her's, I am the employee at the end of the day and I have to agree with my boss. Whether something is "worse" or not is not up to my decision, it is the designer's.
If you are not getting paid then my best advice is stay organized. Even when you are rushed, do not save files to obscure locations or randomly pull out flash drives. It is better to be 5 minutes late than to lose 60 minutes of work.

Pretty much done with the Robot Thing.
Need ideas/critique on BG.

My initial suggestions are to start with the actual design of the creatures. Give them more dynamic poses. Second, when attempting to emulate another style, try to make a list of things that you think the other spriter of the style you are emulating is thinking about the sprite. Pokemon Sprites rarely have the outlines of the main figure be a lighter colour than the color inside. In addition, dithering is used in jagged corners to smooth out the pixels. The main sprite should be 2-3 shades and tints of one hue. The highlights are usually a sharp contrast from the original sprite.  :)

The figure needs to be more sculpted. Make parts of it protrude and recline to give it more interest.
