I'm looking to practice some sprite anim, so does anyone know of any good sites for references for various animal locomotions (including humans)?

This one seems to have some okay stuff for horses and dogs: http://bowlingsite.mcf.com/Movement/locoindex.html

Okay, downloaded the most recent wacom drivers and under options there's a toggle for a Tablet PC mode which allows me to do what I'm wanting.  :-[

Made a poor atempt at Turbo's lizard thing.

2^4 - 4 colours.

Upped brightness some.
Added knuckle highlights (so now the near hand actually looks somewhat like one).
Shortened torso a few pixels.
Tweak fingers of far hand.

2^4 colours.

I'm not completely sure what you mean, but my two buttons on my stylus can be set to things like modifier, where I can choose alt, ctrl, etc, so I hold one button and touch the color I want to pick. And no need for moving it off tablet ??? It's a wacom volito 2.

I mean stylus barrel button modifying the action of the stylus tip.

So:
Tip + no buttons = LMB
Tim + button = RMB

This has the benefit of friction locking for the RMB and of course pressure/tilt.

The wacom software doesn't even seem to support keyboard modifiers for tool actions (only setting tools to act as keyboard) which would be a satisfactory alternative anyway, since I've got a hand on the keyboard anyway for Ctrl panning.

Haven't addressed any critisisms since my last post yet, but here's what I got so far.

Rerg1: I've been screwing with my monitor settings a bit lately so it may well be too dark for a more standard setting, I'll look into it.
No idea how the face can need to be both more and less detailed though.

Jad: I might curl some of the fingers more, lost most of that when I redrew the hand.

khorin: I thought Jad meant the left arm? I have reworked the lighting on the right arm some, which hopefully remedies this to some degree.

sharprm: What egg sack? Its a watcher damnit! Those are corporeal-ethereal interfaces extruded from the watcher's ethereal core to anchor it to its host, and hence into corporeality.  ;)
The pose is still rather awkward looking I'll try to come up with something.

2^4 colours.

This is something that's been bugging me for a while.

With my Wacom stylus using the right mouse button requires (by default) holding the stylus off the tablet and pressing a barrel button. The (primary) problem with this is that when the tip is off the tablet my (I presume normal level of) hand shaking causes the cursor to jitter some and so greatly reduces the usefulness of the RMB.

In GGale this jitter turns a colour pick into a box select and so naturally pisses me off to no end.

The RMB can be reconfigured to eraser but flipping the stylus for every colour pick is time consuming.

What I want is to be able to use the barrel buttons as modifiers, so that when the RMB barrel button is down using the tip acts as the RMB.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of any way to do this with the Wacom software that I've missed, or if there is any third party software that allows this?

Nice, old school stuff, but the light purple outline on the foreground tiles really doesn't work. I'd say darken and or desaturate and maybe add the odd highlight.

To add interest to the background layers I'd say add stalagmites, stalactites and columns.

I'd suggest you look up some antialiasing tutorials as the method your using at the moment really doesn't work.

Also your mixing of 8-connect and 4-connect outlines is odd, though you might be able to pull it off with better AA.

All your colours are very high saturation. If you tone down the saturation some (thereby reducing contrast) they wont look look so busy.
