It would look interesting if he was pulling something heavy.

tried to do what you said (: but dont really know what looks best, the original seems like it has more depth but on the other hand looks more plastic..

The white is such a contrasting color.  Maybe pick another color...something more close to white so you could do some smoother blending.

I think the white just in the eye and teeth, etc. gives it more character...(more facial expression).  You might not want that.  It's all a matter of the style you're going for.

The white only used in those areas draws too much attention to them in my opinion. Maybe still use whites for some highlights, but way way less, so it's not quite as slippery looking.

I agree.  Just very small highlights with the white....like 3 or 4 pixels here and there.

I like it, but it seems that the white is too bright.

My thoughts exactly.

It's almost like you need 3d glasses to view it correctly.

Here's a little edit with just the white on the teeth and eye.  I reshaped the head a bit.  It looks a little meaner now.  I'm sure you weren't going for mean, but that's just me...lol
I wish you luck in the challenge.

EDIT:  After the edit I realized this was probably a plant eating dinosuar.  No need for teeth like that...lol

I'd probably use the white for just the eye, teeth and claws.  I'm a n00b though.

I think they look pretty good...although if it's going to be part of a strategy game, I'll assume you'd want characters.  You might want to think about scaling your trees and structures up somewhat otherwise the characters would be very small.

I love the contrast between the building and the small detailed flags.  Such a feeling of space.  Nice work.

I did a couple more frames just to get more of an idea on the neck thing.  It kind of stretches out on the lunge a bit.  I think you're right on the tail being to thin.  I'll refine these in the next few days.  Sometimes some animation can give me a better idea.  I have nothing to save animated gifs yet as I'm using the free version of GraphicsGale.

The clay is a great idea.  I want to try legos for a spaceship in a video game...so I can get a 3d effect..spinning, tilting, etc.

The light effects are awesome on the update.  Looks like just blending a 3rd color (maybe a 4th) on the body, head, etc would really make it pop.

Just for practice I created this...

I know that the saturation is a bit much and the feet and neck need work.  Does that sound accurate?

Everything I do is for some sort of program.

I hear you about isolated pixels.  Who would even notice?  Obviously, not me...lol  I will now.
.................

I know a lot of programmers use a rgb(255, 0, 255) as a mask (transparent) color just because it's so harsh.  In the picture below is that color used in the back ground as the mask color.

my sugestion would be to start thinking less saturated colors. this way not only you make it more natural but you also leave room to use a saturated color for a certain elemente or area that you wanna make stand out.

Also this picture frame would be a good example of what I would want to stand out.  A bright white, yellow, orange and red.
