Pixel Art / Re: [Feedback][WIP] Sword Swing Animation

some good tweaks on the last post, but planted doesn't mean 100% static! For a swing like that his far leg would likely pivot slightly to allow for the movement. Play with the knees, that's where most of the movement will be!

your drawing kinda suffers from a lack of structure. As is, it's basically an HD stick figure.

I highly reccomend starting this design over with more of a structured approach, the poses are a good start so try and recreate that with one of these bad boys:

while i am loving the angle on this dude, it's a bit hard for me to parse anything below the neck on this fella. Something's up with the clarity there!

tried to increase focus on the head by reducing the "detail-pop" on everything else, as well as widening and pushing back the fore-claw stance so that it wasn't overlapping the head as much. You can probably still improve upon what i've done, but reducing colorcount on non-relevant details to make it slightly less distinct may help draw the eye down more.

one other thing you might want to try for that if you want to keep it this complex though is some sort of environmental cue. scorch marks around the face, for example, to funnel the player into it?

going to leave this here.

Beware employment with this company, they've gained a significant amount of notoriety in the past for how they've treated artists and contributors to their products.

This is just me being salty, don't read this part
Also, just about every major update to starbound made it worse and worse until it left me personally with very bitter feelings about a project I once saw a lot of potential in. RIP the old lore, RIP the exploration based gameplay, and RIP any idea the story mode could have ever been good.

I like 2 more, but still hasn't fixed proportion weirdness. I think it may actually be that the arms are too short though so it's good you didn't take my words in there. hand should meet about mid-thigh.

notes: the shading on the wing membranes closest to the camera was too dark, making them look more bunched up/folded than the ones that were actually bunched up and folded. I removed those dark areas so that the more stretched-out membranes were more lit up.

I also TRIED to add some scale texture to the tail to match the legs, but I don't think I was terribly successful there.

Overall, i think there's a lot of overly dark shadows on this, but it's hard to tell without environmental cues if the lighting's off or it's just an artefact of a lack of context.

the waist feels really skinny and the shoulders are a bit pinched inwards. I'd see if you can fix that a bit.
