I made an edit.  you had weird anti aliasing going on.

I didnt try to do the hands cuz I think we all know what would happen iff i tried   also i kinda botched his left arm anatomy, but hopefully you pay more attention to my pixel guidance rather than anatomy lol

by the way, save for a few anatomy issues, your character and drawing is pretty well done  :) :)

(edit, tried Decroded's outlining tips a bit)

So many colours. Holy damn.

I reduced what I could and unified the lightsource a little (which I picked arbitrarily from a random surface).
I also removed the crazy AA and added outlines to everything because some things had outlines and some things didn't and that was weird.

This isn't what you should do at all, btw. Just a few things you could look at. I actually prefer Friend's edit because it simplifies the surfaces, which is cool.

Damnit I couldn't stop myself. I edited Friend's edit.

Same story - different approach.

just a quick edit of Ambivorous' version regarding outlines.
just wanted to illustrate that bright areas (e.g. knife blade) don't need dark outlines imo they look too contrasting and are unnecessary to help it pop.
consider a bright colour only needs a mid-bright outline to pop against a bright background and needs no outline to pop from a dark background.
4 frames first one is Ambivorous' version.

i also think outlines should be reserved for outlining the outside of the sprite, and used sparingly inside the sprite where value variation isn't enough to separate forms as it goes against the principal of pixel art imo to waste pixels on excessive outlines.

Ambivorous awesome edits again.

Decroded that's very helpful. I was thinking the same thing with the outlines then I remembered the confusing argument about selective outlining (sel out).  So is sel out still disliked? Because it seems your handling of the outlines is what looks right
