Try walking in your room : not only your legs move. The head pops up and down, the arms go front and back etc etc...

Did you actualy read them? You should know what we're going to say, you'd be dumb if you couldnt recognize whats wrong, so try to fix it. We can crit your attempts.

His knees are so high they might as well be in his stomach try to make the thighs longer.

I suggest you get your pixelling skills down before you attempt animation. Right now, the character itself is lacking many fundamental aspects, and once you get down anatomy, shading, etc, animation should be much easier to understand and correct.
Good luck.

This isn't one of my best works, i'll admit. But the shading and proportions are temporary until i have a decent walk cycle down. I'll submit some of my other work tomorrow, cant be bothered now.

Edit : And i'd also appreciate comments related to the art, before you generally flame me as an artist.

There's no flaming going on here, just honest critique. In fact, you should probably not bother with anything but lineart until you've got the animation done the way you want it. Use either a stick figure, or rough outlines, colors and shading show up after you feel good about the actual animation. So try starting with that, and use those tutorials, they're not just for fun!

Yeah i've totally redrawn my character now, but it's still in lineart stages. I'm gonna animate it as lineart before i even think of bothering to colour it. I'm in school now and photobucket is filtered so i'll post it when i get home.

There seems to be a little jump where the animation loops... you need more flow in the animation too, the legs need to bend more, the head needs to bob gently up and down, the arms need to swing around helplessly and... :-\. Um... :-\.
I can't come up with any more crits :(. Keep at it, pal.

Err, well, I know it's a choice of style, but your guy looks very 2-D in a skewed kind of way. For example, his upper body is incredibly thin, and in a bit of an unbalanced way, it is as if you didn't want his left arm to cover/obscure his body and made it very thin as a result, and so on. His butt(sorry) is also very thin, and for it to connect with his legs would have to make them very thin and so on, etc..

So even if your idea was to make him thin, I don't really buy it. D:

Fatten him up, think of how he and his body parts would look from different directions, think in 3D, you know? You'll have to trick the brain of the viewer that you guy actually would be able to move and almost exist for real (a very obscure real is okay too)..

You don't trick my brain yet, though D: That's all. Sorry if I can't give better C+C, and please don't get mad at me :]

Right guys, that's it. I've had 3 tries, each with different tutorials and it just isnt working for me. This is stupidly blunt but can someone PLEASE make or help me make a walk animation? It's the only thing stopping my game from happening. I'm not attention seeking, i promise, But i really want to finish a game for once, And it's so difficult just attempting things like this and trying to learn 99% from scratch. If you guys can't help, then i understand, and thanks anyway.

Damn. I deleted my last one out of annoyance. Now you're gonna believe i'm pretending i've been trying ._.
But anyway, basically it turned out like the first one. The legs seemed skewed, and the knee didnt seem to bend enough.. I tried to fix it but.. meh. I should probably forget about this project.

EDIT : Actually i think it was worse than the first one  :-\
