Well in helms case they could be in greek
I think that you should edit the head and hands,as they're the part of the body that looks the most odd,study helms edit.

the art book I used mostly as a child was in english, michaelangelo series, studying the human form. I'm sure if you go in an art store and browse their selection you'll find something that suits you.

More deamon less aligator monster?

It look like a Pokemon now. Not nearly the same effect. I prefer the aligator head. I think the hands need to be redone completely. I can't tell how many fingers he has or which way his wrist is pointed. Also, it's left thigh is looking thin. Can you perhaps make the canvas larger and paint the whole character?
