I haven't played much games for almost a year, now I finally got seriously hooked on a game Desktop Dungeons. Nice graphs by Derek Yu and all.

Where can one see your latest Habbo pixels? Or any.

Mixed resolution being a terrible idea is perhaps a matter of taste, aspecially in a piece like this on it's own without any detailed background. It's understandable it bothers the eye for pixelarts rights and wrongs but for me the 2x2 pixels makes it more of a peculiar art-piece rather than just an angular bird.
Aaand I'm out of toothpicks anyway and thinking a dark-gray for background?

Made this massive 78 x 116cm pixel painting on the backside of a framed poster I found on the attic today, it's almost finished but I can't decide what BG colour fits the best. It'll hang on my wall in my dark funished apartement, will a darker gray fit perhaps or is there any suggestions before I start filling in the corners with the toothpick?
The frame is also black btw.

And yeah, original:

Wow, this gotta be so much fun making! You got a superb start on something here, if it ever becomes available - where can one find it?

Never ever even tried making some sort of tile before. Love it!

You know I always spent to much time on my stuff and it never really turned out as good as I hoped because I'm to eager to sort of improve my pixel-skills in every piece. But the things I've done that I'm not only most satisfied with but that also the ones getting the most favourites by far on Pixejloint I finished within like 20 minutes. I sort of just drew without thinking 'is this correct or not'. It's strange really. Try it out, just paint and see what happens and if you start to mess it all up after getting stuck take a break and get back on it the next day.

And for inspiration I use the web-browser add-on StumbleUpon, scrolling through 'Art pages', you'll find something really inspirational eventually. I do anyway.

I think the previous idea is better than the latest update perhaps, the new ones aren't as simple, and I think the simplicity really makes this piece. Happy with the result I'm loading it up on PJ!

Thanks!

I peeped over at Google and searched for some real photos of 'Blue Tits', lol, and made a quick edit from what they looked like. It kinda looks like an parrot almost. Does it look better?

I must say I really dislike the faux graffiti splodge styled background - I think you could get some really interesting shapes and forms into it if you went further with the detail. I'm imagining a larger array of smaller bubbles, more curves... hmm hard to explain. Not keen on the large cirlces and straight drips. Love the bird.

It isn't exactly hard to imagine there's a more suitable background for it, perhaps the 'splodge spray' is not the "one". Guess if there should be a background at all is should be somewhat in style with the bird, I'm thinking colours.

Here's my inspiration source http://mattsewell.co.uk/?p=744

And:

Forest background? Clouds? The bird in a tree?

Edited some more again. Played around with colors, mabye the backgrounds are to noisy and draws too much attention away from the bird.

Here they are anyways:

I guess AA looks better at some places, especially on the back and on the head. I really think the wing can be improved as well, right now it looks like a black gap on the bottom.
And I get the feeling that something is missing, it looks so simple.
