Help with shading / anatomy

on: July 15, 2009, 09:23:22 am
Well I have been working on this... it is supposed to be finished so far... problem is, I'm not completely convinced with the shading on the chest area... and the anatomy part of the leg on the right side... I feel like somehow I did a better job with the one located on the left side, and then well, can't really get it done the right way.

Can anyone edit this or point out the issues?

EDIT: By the way... he's not wearing an armor, it's supposed to be regular cloth... and on the forearm of the left side it's supposed to be fur.

Hi. Here's a quick edit.

I tried to take this stance and two things happened:
- my weight shifted to the left leg (the bent one) tilting the pelvis up on that side - in the edit the left leg "starts" higher,
- left knee naturally rotated outwards - more of the left knee's profile is seen.

As to shading I bring no advice :-[.

Thanks Biomechanic... I'll edit the piece to try to apply those fixes. :)

You kind of have some pillow shading going on with the left leg (our left -- his right).  Given where your light source is coming from, it looks like the left side of the left leg is too dark.

Cool... I'll keep all those pointers out, for the next update of this piece. The concept art of this character isn't complete, so I'm waiting for that to make the neccesary changes, and I'll apply those fixes.  :y:
