Color stuff! Desaturate the background, maybe add mist there. Up the saturation on the focal point! And add some dark reflection to the water!

This is a good response, I retract all complaints and urge you to make extendoscarf a gameplay element

Time the slam better with the movement and give it less frames so it's faster. Possibly even vibrate or add some crack-effects to it for more force

Same crit I just posted, the extra bend in the scarf kinda messes with the simplicity of the design for me

we're simply here to provide guidance. You clearly have some ideas, and the sprite itself is well done, so try your hand at your own redesign first then we can give you pointers from there!

Your mum
It'd take me your mum hours

(Jokes aside, damn dude, mspaint animations. That takes me back. Pick up a copy of gimp (free) or Aseprite (less free but cheap and good) to work with instead.)

I think you're on the right track. Try to simplify further, draw some skulls to get a better feel for the underlying structures, notably brow and jawlines!

Ditto. Excellent colors, gives me sort of a hyper light drifter vibe but without the eye strain

I don't mean to be rude but the above examples are all kind of not the best to work from. Google is your friend, try to work from life or from things noted for their high quality.

One Punch Man especially is great for referencing actiony movements and heroic walks, and space dandy does a lot with its basic motions too.
Unfortunately not a lot of Western works I can think of outside of avatar, but things of about that par are the ideal when working from non-life reference.

Aside from the examples though, ma3vis offers sound tips.
