[Complete] Ring Wraith (PJ weekly challenge)

on: January 06, 2008, 12:05:46 pm

Yeah well, reactions on PJ so far ar positive. I'm quite happy with it as well so far.
I'm not too sure about the underside of the robe though. Any suggestions are welcome.

Oh right, main reference is:

Exactly

I am still trying to get em defined better though.
Because they are suposse to look like it's a robe with sleeves. So any suggestions on that are most welcome.

Bit of an update:

it still looks very WIP... some AA wouldn't harm it and generally give it more polish....

plus i meant it look like he has no arms... look at the reference and his armoured arms and hands.  Plus it being a ring wraith i would expect there to be more of a dark eery atmosphere rather than cute bushes and flowers...

I think to help define the arms you should make the sleeves separate from the hood. Background needs more work too.

If you were ever crazy enough to buy the AMAZING 1231 dick... disc* DVD you'd seem them put the costume on in three parts. Body, shoulders and hood.

Examine the reference a bit more.

I was about to post a link to that reference as well.. it looks like a burka if it consists of only one part. I'd be happy to see this piece differ from the LOTR -movie designs as much as possible. It's irked me that even though the look of the Middle Earth in those movies is top notch, it should still be considered as only one interpretation, not give it a status of an official LOTR look.

I gave it hands, added some details, some more AA, replaced the plants in the lower left corner because they were shit.
I also tried to seperate the arms more but I'ts tough.

22 colours by the way.

The pixels self arent too tasty yet now but the folds make a lot more sense now I think.
