Looking good. You can easilly tell that it's suposed to be a stone road. I think you should try darken the outlines/cracks (what's the word?) of the stones. Not by too much though. Great work! :)

tiles and character would both benefit from a reappraisal of value and what value does
A mistake is a mistake.
The same mistake twice is a bad habit.
The same mistake three or more times is a motif.

In the dark cracks there are little random pixels that have a very similar color, drop them. Everything seems very random and messy, like the random pixels everywhere in the piece. I also think this piece could benefit from some depth, which could be accomplished by adding darker pixels at the 'intersection' of the cracks between the rocks. There is also a problem with it tiling... you should try your best to make all the cobblestones the same size, so you avoid having ones that stand out. Right now you have two very large ones that stand out, and then a line of small ones as well.

i actually think it tiles extremely well given the variety of stone sizes, but keep working those colors, adarias and dusty have both given you some good general directions.  keep experimenting with lighting and value and colors!  this is a great start :)

Well it tiles well, but there is an obvious pattern in it. There are rows of small cobblestones, then large ones(about double the size of the others) that repeats over and over. Not really anything that breaks it, but I think it'd flow better if all the stones were generally the same size.

I noticed that the last version is not so polished any more, so I tryed to change some outlines making them softer... changed brightness aswell.

This looks like the final version, unless you people have coments, on how to improve it.

My friend, here is where the polish STARTS (:

You need more AA to take out lots of the jagginess. The single pixels that are kind of randomly sprinkled about doesn't really do anything. They should go.

(: But good luck!

Exactly. You say 'final version' and I say 'halfway there'. Polish time. Dither, aa, mess with colors.
