like pep, ill keep mine simple.

Im from Calgary AB Canada. Im 15 and just entering highschool. My names Corey, and my birthday is Feb23. But nuff bout that crap.

Iv been pixeling for some 3-4 years. Not to long, but owell. Im not the greatest realistic drawer, so all my stuff is cartoony. Im just getting into CG stuff with my tablet. But pixeling has sure improved alot of my skills on just sketching. Funny how that happens.

I play soccer and am a performer.
Most importantly im ukrainian.
yep tis it mostly.

so... I hope im not to late, but I wanted to get in on this too.
So from what I was reading and what I grasped was that Tsugumo has his selout with using darker shades than those in the sprite. Helm was saying to use lighter shades.

So that got me to thinking. Why not combine both?
Heres a small example I through together in 5mins just for explanation purposes.

The first image shows the sphere. I have 3 colours used in it, and then one darker and one lighter for the outline. I figured that why not colour the lines like they were the sprite themself. Use the darkest shade where the shadows would be on the sprite, and the highlight colour thats closest to the lightsource. Then select one of the colours you used in the sprite itself as a transition colour. For me I used the darkest colour. BUT, the colour you used for the transition colour, CANNOT touch itself within the image. You used it as an outline therefore if it touches itself it looses some of that outline crisp, like the second image.

Now the second image, I just edited my display pic just because its the closest thing i have to a sprite that could be used in a game. Here I have only one new colour. Thats the darkest shade. I used it the same was as I did in the first. I put it in the darkest places. Next I used the colours within  and extended them to the lines. I find it doesnt look as crisp, but it can still get the job done. Perhaps I even went too far and added a new darkshade for each set of colours. I could of very easily done this using one one new colour. But owell.

I just thought Id show my thought on the subject. Perhaps a solution or another viewpoint to this that helm and tsu have created. Hope it fits.

You seem to only have challenges as your only real reason for someone to vote for you.
What else are you to offer? Better monitering of useless posts <-- thats a goodone (by the end of pixelation i was sick of the stuff i was reading).

Perhaps some sort of 'learning' thing would be good. Challenges can usually only re-represent the persons current skill level in some restricted/monitored way. All that may be progressed from atleast what i see is imagination and learning to see how to not think narrow minded but rather come up with creative ideas. True this is good for some members, but i believe this is a forum for ALL.
Perhaps giving small lessons, tutorial links, professional breakdown, then have them immitate that, or what theyv learned opposed to always just having activities such as 'make a 8x8 tile iso map' or 'only use grey shades'.

Hopefully that makes sense, but i feel you need a bit more to offer than just weekly challenges.
Also as a leader, i feel there should be quality posts made. In-depth reviews and edits for people. It doesnt have to be no 3pgs long, but still better than the average post i feel.

Would you be willing to do these things?
Not to fret, im contemplating on voting for you.

So im stuck thinking now on who to vote. So heres a few questions.

You mentioned lotteries. check my quote. In what sense do you mean by that? When i think of lotteries I usually think of somekind of ticket and a CASH prize. Perhaps Im narrow minded and theres another type of lottery. But either way, what are your plans for that?

lotteries

You also mentioned this "edutainment" thing with all these possible lessons such as facial expressions, tileling, etc. Are you teaching them all? Are you having guest teachers? Are we studying professional works? commercial critiques? Please elaborate.

But not to fret, im contemplating you.

beh, I dont really know where to post but here will work just as fine.

Iv been reading all the campaign things and all I have seen is challenges. I dont feel like running myself at the moment fer some reason... but I do have one suggestion to someone who is.

make some commercial critiques. For those unfamiliar with that, its where you breakdown and analyze a real game. Id be sure to participate. Hell ill start one if noone else does.

just thought id add that little tid-bit fer whomever cares because i find them important and productive and I bet im not alone

Thar thar...

here we is:

Touched up his shoulder, Redid his logo on his hat, and slightly darkened the anchors in the background.
I even slightly touched up his pegleg fer fun.
I kept the background anchors still similar to the background colour so it wouldnt draw away too much from the picture.

thanks for the comments!! mean lots to me. Im glad you like the colours because they were tricky for me to pick and all match.

...--> I might just animate him:P but probably not pixeled. thanks for the idea.
