The only sprite I remember seeing is the Ripley one. I don't think i've even seen half of these. OMG it makes me think back to the days when Pixelation wasn't even purple yet.

ANYWAY, its much better now. The leg pushes forward too soon though, or either when hes picking his feet up hes 'throwing' them down. Egh, its hard to explain. I think i've showed this to many people, but this run I did a while back was pretty decent, and I think it could give you the keyframes you are looking for:

Anyway, its hot. I really don't think you needed to distrot the hand. He may be a bird, but birds don't have arms either, so.
I would suggest thinking more about subtle texturing. the pants could really benefit from some.
