You have a ridiculous amount of colours and anti-alias where I wouldn't call most of this pixel art. It's kind of weird how only the eyes move, it kind of seems like the eyes are surrounded by a painting.

For the animation I would say try to make it look like the eyes close from both eyelids. like this:

Thanks so much! I thought the anti-alias blurry pixel-art was going to look nice, but you're right- it just makes it look like a low-quality image. I only animated the eyes because it was a test run, but thanks for the double eyelid suggestion; makes a lot more sense than what I did.

Hey there! Great work, but a few pointers:
1. This may have been what you were going for, but it is very cartoony; with little to no shading. The colors and shapes are fairly accurate, but it still needs a bit of depth to get that textured fur look! (use alternating hues when shading in fur)
2. The fur has a reddish whiteish tinge in the picture, but yours has a cool palette. I touched it up with a bit of red, brown, and white.
3. The eyes are very cartoony, but taking away a bit of the highlight and adding a few more colors to the mix fixes that. Use some slightly off colored rings around the eyes to make it look a bit more realistic!
4. The muzzle needed to be wider. A wide muzzle distinguishes between a cat and a dog, since felines have a thinner face than a dog and certain dogs have a slightly pear-shaped face.

Other than that, great job!  :y:

Can I bump this for a review? I'd really like some critique!

It might just be me, but the image isn't showing up. Are you sure that it's the correct file?

It looks wonderful, but the jump animation could use a little bit of work. He begins the jump, teleports into mid-air, then finishes it. Maybe a few more frames in the middle? Other than that it's extremely well done! :y:

Thanks!  :)  (This is a very basic starter animation, wanted to test the program out)
