General Discussion / Re: How To Upload An Image
« on: May 13, 2018, 05:51:02 pm »
In short, this is what I do, works the same for images, gifs etc.
  • Open imgur
  • upload image
  • when uploaded right click on it and chose "open image in a new tab"
  • if it doesn't work, refresh and retry, it should now have opened a new tab
  • click on the new tab, and copy address
  • in pixelation.org click "insert image" or type [ img ] [/img ] (without the spaces) and paste your link in-between
  • You have successfully posted an image on the forum, congratulations!

Hope this helps :)

Pixel Art / [CC] Need criticism on idle pose and walk cycles.
« on: May 13, 2018, 05:30:57 pm »
I've posted about that character on pixel art but now I need advice on animation.
How do the experienced guys think I can improve those walking animations and why
not as well the idle one too.

The skid hopping of the baby is intentional, the proportions are intentional as well.

Anything other than that I'd like to receive criticism on, shading, animation etc.

For info, it's a 12 frames walk cycle and idle animation, at 10fps.

Here it is:

I've only done one walk cycle animation because I'm waiting for criticism before I
engage myself too much in animation and have to change everything later haha.

Thanks for your time and feedback,

Regards,

Hugo.

Pixel Art / Re: [WIP] [C+C] Wasp Enemy
« on: May 13, 2018, 01:12:31 pm »
I think the limbs should be less rigid since they don't support the wasp mid-air. Also you might want to look at the link Xenon02 posted for the shape. I think your first animation was better in regards to the wings. Try giving them more speed, right now, they look very rigid and too slow to work :)

Pixel Art / Re: House design help
« on: May 13, 2018, 12:05:29 pm »
The shadows on the house indicate that the light is coming from its front. However you shaded the chimney as if the light were coming from the right. Also I think it would look great if you removed the outlines on the chimney and wooden structures on the house and textured them, with bricks etc. You might want to add a highlight on the windows, they look dull at the moment, they don't look like they're made out of glass.

Something's bugging me with your perspective. Looking at the facade, it looks like you're looking at he house from the front, however the top of the chimney looks like it's seen from above. The roof as well, you might want to make the tiles shorter in hight, and the roof coverage a lot smaller. Finally the pillars: if you were looking at the house from ground level the bottom of the pillars should stop where the bottom of the facade is.

I tweaked your drawing a little to show you what I mean about perspective, I hope this helps :)

Haha yeah I agree, 1 is very lanky and it makes the head look huge and heavy. Thank you for the feedback!

Thank you in advance!

I Agree! This is why I changed it again, let me know what you think. I moved the eyes too, their height wasn't matching on all angles.

Here's what I mean about the pacifier animation:

I can see where you're coming from about the head.
I was actually giving him a flat head on purpose I think it looks weird but
cartoonish as well. Plus I think it'll look great when the pacifier will be animated
it will emphasise the shape of the head.

However I agree on the shading on the back of the head. It does look round.
I tried to fix it, how do you think that looks?
