Tree wip and a leaf

hello, im new to pixelling, and for now im just making random objects, to practice everything
i think i gave it a little bit too much shade on the veins of the leaf, they stand out too much now, but im still practising,
any tips?

Ruler number one, SAVE AS A PNG.!
Besides that, try making this with less colors, like 4 or 5.

okay, im used to work with like 8-9 tones on one color, from light to dark.
ok will save as .png,

i think im gonna go with grass instead of water, i know im using too many colors, but when i found that out, i already got this far.
any other tips? sugesstions?

i'd avoid having lightest shade just nearby an outline if i were you. Pay also attention to lightning of your scene. it doesn't make sense to have some roots having their down side highlighted and shadow on their upper side (you did the same mistake on your left branch, too).

If those gradients are your actual palette you are using way way way way too many colors! 3 or 4 shades per hue should be more than enough.
