weeeelll I had been working on this earlier and this is what i came up with, quite similar to what jad had said, I added a crotch too and  messed with the colors a bunch.(there are a lot of colors in this btw) more dynamic cape would be cool too, with my capedit i let it flow with the natural flow of your dude  :-*

No, they are right at least about the extended right arm. it should be placed a little higher up from the side of the torso. I also do like the extension of the feet in sharprm's edit.

The reason why it may feel bland or boring to you is that mainly right now it's unpolished, specifically the outlines and shading. clean it up some, add some darker outlines, and as pixelfish said, don't let the outlines dictate the shading as much. once it's polished up you'll be much more satisfied with it. because i like the style going on, you just need to fix up (i.e. the armor shading)

yeah i didn't really like any of the mouths with the last 2 edits. gizmonic had it down better.


but i did make an edit myself, started off with eyecraft's edit.

some color edits/conservation, face structuring...
you had a bit of banding taking place at the chin.

not sure at all about my edit's eyes though, can't quite get a good shape but I thought yours were a little too big

Don't be too bummed, they sounded like a bunch of drunk Scotsmen when they were on Austin City Limits a couple years ago. I think they're albums are mostly studio-editting.
Even in studio albums they sound like they're almost shouting. it gets on my nerves sometimes.

what's with the funny crop? in my opinion it doesn't really help the composition. you get a better sense of the perspective with the entire thing/./
