Pixel Art / Heroine (nes colors)
« on: June 08, 2015, 12:53:08 pm »
Working on some ideas for a new game.

Wondering if this as a player is too boring? I only used nes colors and tried to only have 3 colors for the player (except for the weapon).

I plan to have her well animated:

(Any ideas why graphics gale would do this to me? I had to go in a fix frames manually)

Thanks lachrymose I need all the votes I can get. Hard to drive traffic to a Greenlight page..  ???

I added one more GIF to make the page more fun. The death animations of the bulls are made by wolfenoctis.

Hi All,

I finally put the game on Steam Greenlight: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=434069557

Here is the first Trailer "Just Pain" .

In the end of the trailer you see the awesome pixel art of Wolfenoctis. He made all the cut scene artwork as well as some of the animations and backgrounds.

Perhaps something like this would make her look a little bit more aggressive like Ryu:

I am not disagreeing with arm length. But I think it is quite clear in Lachrymose edit that she looks less like a robust woman and more like a smaller woman.

All I am saying is that I liked the originality of the the thickness of her thighs, the wide shoulders, and wide torso, 2 of which disappeared in Lachrymose edit. All 3 are anatomical correct but perhaps less conventional.

I must say that I disagree with critiques of the neck and body parts. I think you have been able defy conventions and actually draw  strong woman. Not a body builder but a proper strong woman. So I really think you should stick with that approach.

However, the face on the 2 lower pictures are not so good not sure what kind of expression you are trying to show.

Made a small edit:

So nice.

I really love the clouds and the statues. Perhaps the castle could be a little bit moar elaborate and the closes statue could have more details.

And where are the castle flags?

Cels: Thanks I hope you will enjoy the game. Yeah the Life bar is quite plain I did not want it to detract from the action. At first it was just a red bar.

Probo: I have been thinking about shadows. But not for this game perhaps for the next...

As for gameplay
, the game is a side scrolling action game. It is more slower paced then many 2d games since just like games as Monster Hunter and Darks Souls you cannot cancel out of your attack. You also have to block in 3 different angles in order to stop the enemies attacks. Here is a video to illustrate:
