I changed the head, and started to shade ;D



Added a helmet  ;)


Anyway C+C, i don't know if.. the shading makes it look like metal.

ok, look here



without colors, first look at values for the moment

first image is your orignal in grayscale, not much contrast.
second image is my edit in grascale, more contrast since metal needs contrast to look shiiiiinnnyyy.
third image, mostly your orginal colors, but with the boosted contrast, in skin too.

i removed 4 uneeded colors.

That's a good crit, especially on trouble shooting your contrasts in grayscale. Also the illusion of metal is usually created with tight bright highlights against a low contrast base color.

Also...in my opinion the head looks to big when compared to the body of the char.....i guess this might be a look your going for...but then more should be defined to make the head look right on the char..

you should really give your character a neck and real shoulders. The current way, he looks too stiffy, as if head and arms were "glued" on a torso rather than being part of the same body.
