that really looks super nice, I love the minimalistic style.
Looks pretty much Populous to me..?

Yeah, your definately making progress in the right direction (except the demon, I think you are right, maybe its just the background but he is unreadable atm).
I have to say that I LOVE the sleeping dwarfs, they are super funny. I also really like the reduced complexity on the dwarfs in general now, and am happy that you stuck with the red noses and ears - thats really giving them something. Even though I know this is a artist trick to make ears and noses red, I'd not use the same intensitiy on the elves, that just seems a bit too much.
You are right about the grass, it really has a nice fluffy feel to it compared to the rocktiles.
I'm not sure if I like your update on the purple enemies - From your last WIP I was able to imagine how you'd animate them, but now with those more massive "tails" you'll have much harder time imho.
Keep going and don't let some stupid crunchtime suck all the power out of you.

And man, I really love that glowy line on top of the rocks, really makes the whole thing special.

Pixel Art / Re: Very small game character

Here we go again, 1st vacation finished.
I have worked on the next walk loop, for the 45? to the right, from front. (phew)

I only loosely used the right aligned animation as a refference, mostly for timing and where the joints in general should be, basically I put every pixel of the legs and arms from scratch.
As you might see in the 45? version I did not shrink his upper body by 1 pixel as I did for the right aligned. Im not really sure what to make of it, but it felt wrong to shorten him on the 45?, but still he somewhat seems too streched in certain frames on the right aligned when I keep his original torso height. I'll sort that out later (however, opinions are as usual greatly appreciated).
On think I'll be definately tweaking some more are the arm swings, they still can improve a litte (even though minor in pixelcount and animation work they are super important to the general mood of the animation)

So here it is, with the right aligned next to it for comparison.

Very nice shading on that sphere-roboter. I really dig the smoke, especially the choice of colors.

Love the color palette, really sets the tone for your setting extremely well!
The best thing so far are those houses, you really get across the japanese architecture there, well done.
The only complaint I have so far is the shoreline - I'd try to break it up a bit with a little bit going in our out of the general line.
Looking forward to see more!

Yeah, I'd say with the small ones you nailed that style.
Why do you want to go larger anyway?
